• a tool for bringing joy into others' lives through the propagating and sharing of plants
• a way for connecting with others through an online community
• a grass-roots platform which facilitates plant sharing knowledge through members and partners who believe in its mission and vision
  

PLANTCESTRY is not

• a place to judge others on their expertise or lack of expertise about plants, or anything else, for that matter
• an organization with employees who will answer member questions about plants
• a full service company with a customer service line
  

MISSION

Plantcestry connects people through their love of plants by:

• encouraging and supporting the sharing (not selling) of plants with friends and loved ones
• providing a safe space to share ideas and love of plants without judgment or the need for expertise
• documenting plant “family trees” as a way of connecting to others
• providing a sense of comfort and renewal through plant propagation

• in science, women's rights, social justice, racial and gender equity and inclusion
• in sharing and not selling plant propagations
